Sex racket busted at Aundh massage parlour

PUNE: The crime branch busted a sex racket, running under the guise of a massage parlour, in Aundh and rescued two women on Thursday. Two persons were arrested in this connection.
A team of social security cell of the crime branch, led by inspector Manisha Zende, raided the massage parlour on a tip-off received by police constables Naresh Balsane and Dnyaneshwar Devkar. The women were sent to a rescue home in the city.

The suspects, including the parlour manager, were arrested under relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) and Indian Penal Code.

Zende said after getting information about the sex racket, a decoy customer was sent there. “After getting confirmation from him, we raided the parlour,” Zende said, adding, “We have recovered Rs6,500 from the spot,” Zende said.

The probe revealed the duo had appointed the women as therapists and forced them into prostitution.

On November 24, the crime branch of the Pune police busted a sex racket operating in the guise of a spa at a commercial complex in Vimannagar and rescued three Thai women — lured to India with a job offer — from flesh trade.

The police have also detained two men for running the sex racket.
