7-hr mega block in Navi Mumbai for Metro work

NAVI MUMBAI: has been granted permission by the Central Railway to carry out a seven-hour mega block Sunday for shifting of the truss over the Diva-Panvel line that‘s a busy Konkan and southern route. This is the longest of all the nine blocks.
The truss is to connect the ninth and tenth stations of Amandoot and Taloja on the ongoing Metro line I work for providing connectivity from Belapur to Pendhar spanning a distance of 11.1km and 11 stations.

Line I is the first phase of the total four lines for city to connect to the upcoming new international airport.

The truss has to be moved with winch and pulley to a distance of 130 meter from the assembling point.

Cidco said the truss has been moved 21 meters so far in the last three blocks, so the weekend block will mean the truss will have moved 78 meters. The fifth block sanction of three hours has also been obtained for Tuesday in the coming week.
