10-yr-old abducted by dad’s biz rival, rescued

MUMBAI: The 10-year-old son of a builder from Nalasopara who was abducted from his home early on Thursday was rescued within eight hours.
The alleged kidnapper, Bablu Thakur (32), who works for a private firm, had taken the boy away as the boy’s father, who is also in the construction business, was delaying sale of a house in Nalasopara to Thakur, said deputy superintendent of police Datta Totewad.

In her complaint, the boy’s mother said that around 2 am, Thakur, his mother and two others barged into the house and took the boy who was asleep. The father was not at home. Thakur told the mother to tell her husband to return the money taken for the house and take back his son. He threatened to kill the boy if they informed the police.

The boy’s mother informed her husband and they approached the police. A special team got down to track Thakur’s cellphone location.

The father told the police that there were some issues in transferring the house in Thakur’s name. The police found that Thakur had kept the boy in . A police team tracked down the room and nabbed Thakur. A search has been launched for his mother and two accomplices.
