Shootout in Mississippi town

Two officers have been killed during a shootout that happened in Mississippi small town Brookhaven that happened on the 29th of September.

The suspect has been taken in custody, he is wounded. Two officers, Patrolman James White, 35-year-old and Cpl. Zack Moak, 31-year-old were at work when it happened. On Saturday morning, Brookhaven heard sounds of firing.

About 5 a.m. in the morning, both officers were called to answer on the report on the shooting. They went to the place of the accident.

According to the Department of Public Safety of Mississippi, Marquis Aaron Flowers of 25-year-old has recently started gunfire. Police officers were killed in the shooting.

Both of them have died in the hospital, after received deadly wounds. The suspect has already been convicted in burglary cases and has a large history of high-speed chases between him and police forces. Now he is wounded and in the hospital.

According to Kenneth Collins, a Police Chief in Brookhaven, this news on two dead police officers is shocking, because usually this town is very quiet and peaceful, and nothing serious ever happens here. Brookhaven is a hometown for 12 000 people.

Collins said that no one expected that early in the morning of Saturday, two brave officers may be killed. He said that he is very proud of his co-workers because they died defending others, like real heroes.

Currently, there is an investigation going on. Authorities did not release more information about the situation when two police officers were shot.
